Morse Code
First off, this plays, I believe, an important part in the SOS chapter.
Lets begin with a little background info.
I'm not going to post the alphabet here, as a simple google search will suffice to find that, but I am going to post some information that I found recently:
1) A dash is equal to 3 dots.
2) The space between parts of the same letter is equal to one dot.
3) The space between two letters is equal to three dots.
4) The space between two words is equal to seven dots.
In the SOS chapter, there are dots between certain paragraphs, most prominently in Johnny's monologues. As there are clear dots, most likely representing spaces between words, one can disregard rules 3 and 4 above. However, regarding consecutive black dots (or squares, as they appear) 1 and 2 may occur. I don't know if they have a meaning when lined up - either when these rules are in effect or when they are not - as I don't have my book on hand, but I just thought that this might be food for thought.
