Has anyone noticed that on two pages of the book there is a check mark in the bottom right corner? I don't have the book right now so I can't study this or tell you the pages, you just have to flip through it.

in the dutch version there's one on page 100, I don't know about the english version, cos I don't have it. (haven't seen any on other pages)
May be you're right, it's been quite a while since I've looked at the book because I read it when I got it from a library. I've also heard from other users that when Johnny wrote letters to her mother he'd put a check mark on it meaning that he got her letter. I don't know if this has anything to do with it but it's possible.
