i believe that the second printing was limited to 1000 hardcover with the same break down as the first printing: app. 800 Z, 200 JT. . .i'm not sure if there were any signed PHL in this printing or not.
edit: apparently there were

You get the idea.

i'm not sure how many softcover red editions were printed, and i haven't heard of an unsigned red hardcover.

Anyone else know if this is accurate?

This thread's bound to have a revival around September.

Also, nd I'm sure here's a better thread to post this, but:

Amazon is already saying it is selling The Remastered Full-Color Edition, does anyone know if it is true? Has anyone seen a Full-Color Edition anywhere?

Did Random House not issue a statement noting that they intend on releasing the full version fairly recently?

Yep, but it was supposed to be until September. So either Amazon has some wrong info or Random House decided to publish the Full-Color ed ahead of time and tell no one. That's why I'm asking if anyone has seen the Full-Color ed already or ordered it from Amazon. (If I had but a bit more money, I would do it myself).

At the B&N on W66 St. in NYC, there are 3 copies of the full color edition. The collages are in color, the photos of the Houses are in color, Minotaur and the crossed out parts are in red, House is in blue, and what I'm remember now is in purple. Yesterday they had 4 copies, now they have 3.
There's a sticker for Only Revolutions that's on the cover. Also there one of the Only Revolutions O's each on the inside first cover and the inside back cover.

Yes, it is as awesome as it sounds.

I've been going through it and I don't know if this has been mentioned yet somewhere else. In Appendix B.: Bits, in the famous confusing line "A su/on to rea/nd the dark", there is no reddening of the o and the u or the a or the n, though they are crossed out.

Went to Borders, same thing.

Found a neat blue paperback misprint at a B&N.

Dan, are they hardcovers or paperbacks? Any pics?

They're paperback. Just went to a B&N and, as I always do, checked the Danielewski section on the fiction shelf. I had no news of a Full-Color edition being out, so when I saw the purple colored Pantheon logo on the side of the book, I knew something was up. Pulled the book off the shelf and, lo and behold. "The Remastered Full-Color Edition" printed at the top of this book which I knew had to be mine. Looking through it, it has some pretty cool changes, as expected from the Full-Color Edition.

Hmmm, I dunno. Obviously I'm going to have to go check it out, but actually I'm kind of disappointed. I always quite liked the fact that there wasn't a full colour edition.

I wonder if they're coming out with a remastered version of Haunted as well: lot's more conversations with Daddy Danielewski! And a stereoscopic cover as well! Order now and a get a pink butterfly sticker which looks really ugly but it's free!

And seriously: MZD should now come out with the Incomplete edition as well. I'm willing to bet a few dozen rupees (one dollar, even) that the Incomplete edition would, in fact, turn out to be complete--not as far as the text is concerned, perhaps, but in terms of a coherent means of finally having a chance at coming up with a specific conclusion (as opposed to an individual one) to the novel.

It seems Amazon isn't selling the Full-Color Edition yet, although it is advertising it does. Just heads up for anyone else thinking about ordering it.

This is a list of differences I'm seeing between the two editions

Surface:
Front Cover-
1. On the top, it says "The Remastered Full-Color Edition"
2. On the bottom right, there is a sticker. There is a black border. On the top of it, it says "Only Revoutions", and on the bottom, "Coming September '06". Withing the border, at the center, there is the O.R. symbol, with the green on the top flowing to the purple at the center fading to the yellow at the bottom.
3. The words "A Novel" is in purple.
4. At the very center, in the compass points, in both edition, there is a circle divided into 8 pieces (like pizza!). On the Full-Color edition, that circle is colored red.

Spine-
1. The Pantheon symbol of the Pantheon (according to the printing info page, it's called a colophon) is in purple

Back Cover (all the reviews are the same)
1. Above the UPC, is this : "© 2000 Random House, Inc.". Above that is this:
"5/06 Printed in the U.S.A."
2. On my old copy, it has a whole thing for Haunted, complete with "listen to the House ... HAUNTED" ", and an old website for Poe.
The full-color edition has this:
"HAUNTED"
www.realpoe.com

Under the Surface
1. Next to the flap on the inside cover, there is a green bordered Only Revolutions symbol. On the back cover, there gold bordered Only Revolutions symbol.
(these 3 things are neat)
On the page with the publishing info (i can't remember what to call it)
2. Where it gives the differences on the editions, the details for the Full Color edition have been changed on the 3rd bullet point. What used to say "Braille and color plates", now says "Xxxxxxx and color plates".
3. In the blue or red editions, the box around the 2-Color information was appropirately colored. For the Full Color edition, the box starts as blue on the top, flows to purple in middle, and ends at red on the bottom.
4. Where it gives the actual Library of Congress information, there are 2 changes:
(a) What was a count from 20 to 10, now goes from 20 to 16. I have no idea what this refers to, in terms of printing.
(b) Above that countdown and below "Printed in the United States of America", it has the words "First Edtion". It is crossed out and in purple.

There is no change with the Exhibits, but I'm going to start with the Appendices, because the changes are bigger and more noticeable and in bright colors.

Appendix I
Appendix A
1. Page 540- "Possible Chapter Titles" - the title of Chapter XIII is The Minotaur (crossed out); that is now red.

Appendix B: Bits
1. Page 542, the "A su/on to rea/nd the dark." thing I mentioned before.
2. Page 546-7, 'the bald gnome Error' section that JT un-crossed out that the Editors put in back the Bits section, crossed out in red.

Appendix C: Pieces (Does anyone know where there is a transcription of the plates?)
1. Page 549, the first plate is still the same, re: black and white.
2. p. 550: the page is aged and heavily yellowed. All the other details seem to be the same, except these 2, which are in color:
(a) On the bottom right corner, the checklist, on the second line "LOVE YOUMOSt. BYE ......" the crossed out bit is covered up in black pen ink, then red paint or hi-lighter over it
(b) The part that is hand-written almost vertical, half what looks to be French and half ["wall-surrounded"]- that is surrounded by a box. That box is blue.

More to continue with Pieces, the rest of the Appendices, and an attempt at the body

I just picked up the remaining stock (four copies) of the Remastered Full-color edition from Stacey's Books on Market Street in San Francisco. The gentleman behind the register seemed very perplexed when I carried four copies to the front and explained that it is a very popular book among my friends.

"So, what's so special about this one?"

It is VERY special to me. Full color edition, the original had House in blue then the second version in red and now there's purple as well.

Green and Gold circles open and close the book, with purple between.

Scans and thoughts and such will show up on mzd.info once I get home (give it eight hours or so).

Ohh, I am getting all tinglely just thinking about the new HoL. I shall investigate my local B&N this evening and buy them out if I can.

For those who have bought them, are they just paperbacks? Have any hardcovers been found?

No. I have seen no hard covers.

Continuing!
3. P. 551. 4 Pieces in this photograph
A- The page is aged & yellowed. The edges extending from the corner in both directions, including the bit that is folded under (that part says: --- in plan again. Perhaps. Perhaps.) The original author of this Piece wrote it in blue ink. Someone came in and added things between the lines in black ink.
B- This Piece is a torn tab from a Hallmark envelope (it says Hallmark in the blank space between the writing). It was written in black ink.
C- The Piece with charred holes. It folded over. It is also written in blue ink. The lines ' "Myth" is the Minotaur.' and ' "Myth" is red.' are crossed out in black ink.
D- The typed Piece in this photograph. It is neither colored nor charred.

Note: The handwriting samples for the first 3 pieces (expect for the added editings in the first one) all seem very similiar (the loops in the script and the shapes of some of the letter)

4. Page 552. There are 3 Pieces in this photograph.
A- A typed scrap stapled to the back of what looks like a business card for The Connaught Hotel in London. The stapled scrap has a red-brown stain (blood?) on the top corner of it and describes the alternate timeline where Chad and Daisy die; this is only on the stapled bit. The sections and the arrows pointing to/from them to the stapled scrap is in red. "One or the other." and "One after the other." are written and circled in pencil. "2,147" and the writing above it are in black pen ink.
B- An aged Piece from a sketch pad. Black ink drawings of the inside of the House and its stairs. Same with the quick-written script. The heavy black ink below the preforations has a thin red line above it, with the notations for the pages in green ink. The three fortune cookie-fortunes with the book notations are on white scraps.
C- The paper doesn't seem yellowed, but it is not new by any means. The black ink of most of the page is normal pen ink. The heavy ink of the rest of the page, the edited parts, seems to be done by a thick black ink-pen, like an Onyx pen.

There are no other differences in the rest of Appendix A.

Yes.

Also, I hate to break it to you Dan, but this is hardly news, since the colour versions of these plates have been on Exploration Z all along.

Well.
I'm glad someone told me this before I started doing this obsessively. That sure would suck!

Seriously though, thay's the end of the differences I can se, so now I can erase the new and second to last of these that I was currently doing, which would have been a waste of the your web-reading time.

Sarvatra, I ordered a softcover one day later than you, so maybe there is some hope left for me . The book won't arrive for about a week, but I really hope it's a Full-Color Ed.
